Director of Alumni Engagement

Archbishop Alter High School seeks a mission-driven Director of Alumni Engagement to cultivate meaningful, lifelong relationships between the school and its alumni community. Rooted in Catholic values and the Alter tradition, this role focuses on alumni engagement, events, volunteer leadership, and stewardship while supporting marketing/communications and fundraising efforts. The Director serves as a connector, storyteller, and relationship builder, strengthening alumni pride and participation in ways that advance the school’s strategic goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience in alumni relations, advancement, communications, education, or nonprofit engagement preferred.
  • Experience working in a Catholic or independent school environment a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Alumni Engagement & Relationship Building
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Archbishop Alter High School and its alumni.
  • Develop and implement engagement strategies that foster lifelong alumni connection.
  • Cultivate relationships with alumni across generations, geographic regions, and interests.
  • Identify and engage alumni leaders, ambassadors, and volunteers.
  • Promote alumni pride and connection to the school’s Catholic identity and mission.

Events & Programming

Plan and manage alumni programs and events, including:

  • Reunions and milestone class celebrations and Homecoming alumni activities.
  • Alumni receptions, networking events, and annual Hall of Fame activities.
  • Coordinate logistics, timelines, budgets, and volunteers for major events.
  • Collaborate with school departments to integrate alumni into broader school events.

Volunteer & Leadership Development

  • Recruit, train, and support alumni volunteers and committees.

Facilitate alumni involvement in:

  • Mentoring and career panels, Admissions support and open houses and student engagement opportunities aligned with mission.

Collaboration & Mission Integration

  • Work closely with Advancement, Communications, Admissions, and School Leadership
  • Support institutional goals while maintaining clear role alignment.
  • Integrate Catholic identity and Alter traditions into alumni engagement efforts.
