Help Build the Future of Our Campus

We have a spirited community who loves to come together and celebrate. In March, at our Diamond Jubilee Gala celebrating our 60th anniversary, we unveiled a dream for the future of our campus. Since that time, we have been meeting with a variety of community members to gain their insight on the plan, and to enlist their help in making our dream into a reality.

I am excited to announce that we have a lead gift for the project. It is the largest single gift our school has ever received, and, I believe, the largest gift given to any Archdiocesan owned high school. Pending Archdiocesan and City of Kettering approval, this multi-million-dollar gift will enable us to start the project in May, and puts us at the halfway point for Phase 1 of the project.

The donor has requested this gift to be used towards the fieldhouse that will be the home of three new basketball courts as well as a new weight room. This choice was an intentional one as it will affect almost every student at our school, and will eliminate late night practices by enabling our coaches to hold practices after school.

It is truly a transformational gift, a gift that shows trust and belief in our school, and one that will ensure that Alter will remain a viable option for families for many years to come. This is an exciting time for our school, but the work is not over. The estimated costs of phase I of this master plan is over $7 million dollars, and we need others to stand alongside this generous donor and help us achieve this goal.

If you were at the Jubilee in March or donated to that evening, we raised just under $400,000 with the specific intent of the locker rooms. Those funds are being held for that specific purpose, and will be used in phase 2 of this project. My ask of you now is a simple one – help us celebrate the AMAZING gift we have received, help us spread the good news of what is happening.
