Upper Room is a student led prayer group that meets every Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m. in the chapel. Former members and leaders of Upper Room were invited by Mrs. Suttman to speak to our current students in Upper Room on Wednesday, May 14th. Andrew McKenna, Ben Burkhart, Alex Burkhart and Diya Percy answered questions from the students about maintaining a “faith life” in college. Mrs. Suttman facilitated the discussion and a lot of wisdom was shared. The key message to our current students is that there are opportunities in college for strengthening one’s relationship with God, but each individual has to take it upon themselves to embrace those opportunities. They warned of various temptations they will face in college life; however, choosing to have a deeper relationship with God will help one to reject them. We are proud of Andrew, Ben, Alex and Diya as they continue to be models of faith in college as they were at Alter.
