11/6 – Thursday MORNING ONLY

Happy Day 4 of the Week of Giving – It is Throwback Thursday!
In 1958, Catholic families in Dayton pledged almost 5 million dollars to defray the cost of building Catholic high schools in our area. One of those schools built was Archbishop Alter High School in Kettering. Reverend Edward F. Haskamp was appointed the first principal on January 3, 1962, and Sister Eleanor Marie Salm, SC, was the first vice principal. Father Haskamp and five Sisters of Charity supervised the final stages of the construction of the school, and Alter opened its doors for the first class of freshmen on September 5, 1962. Now, six decades later, Archbishop Alter continues to welcome a new class of freshmen each year. Thanks to the generosity of those who believed in Alter High School sixty years ago, more than 10,000 young men and women have taken their places in this world armed with the confidence and character needed to fulfill the lives God intended for them. Enjoy the music selections today to celebrate the 60 years of Alter history. Watch Instagram for pictures of past Alter Knights celebrating during their Alter years! Show your school pride by REPOSTING AND SHARING on your own social media and School Club and Athletic Accounts!
