The new Alter graduates will continue their education at 51 different colleges or universities in 23 states and in Scotland. The Class of 2022 were awarded over 31 million dollars of some type of scholarship, either directly from the college or from a civic organization, for their outstanding academics, athletics, or service to the community. One senior has chosen to serve in the military, and another will directly enter the workforce. Finally, three seniors were National Merit Commended Scholars. I sincerely hope all seniors found the Taylor College Resource Center to be beneficial in their college and career search.
Congratulations to all Alter students who received scholarships but especially to the following students who used the Taylor Center extensively for their scholarship search and application: Will Augustine, Lily Bradley, Jonathan Duplain, Ashley Fortman, Joseph Gulas, Arpita Gulati, James Hamilton, Julia Johnson, Christian Kirenga, Amariele Manley, Grace McKenna, Spencer Mills, Molly Noga, Daniel Parilo, Preston O’Brien, Jacob Rider, Karlie Romer, Tommy Switala, Grace Vollmar, and Ahliya Waters. These students took the extra time and effort to search and complete scholarship applications, proving that the Taylor Center mantra of “The best money is free money” is certainly true!

COLLEGE TO CAREER CLUB:
Our final meeting was held on Tuesday, May 10 when we welcomed Marty Grunder, founder
of Grunder Landscaping. Mr. Grunder, an Alter alum, started his business while in high school and shared his journey as an entrepreneur with our members. His lessons of perseverance, hard work, and always striving to be great, not just good, were inspirational.
C2C members, the summer is a great time to visit colleges of interest, attend a pre- college camp, volunteer, and work a part-time job. All of these activities will not only make great additions to your resume but will also provide you with important life-skill experiences. Best of luck to our graduating senior co-presidents: Lily Bradley will root for the Fighting Irish at the University of Notre Dame, Elizabeth Schlemmer will attend Carnegie-Mellon University, and Marie Thieman will become a Tiger at Clemson University. Congratulations!
