November is National American Indian Heritage Month.

In 1990, President George H.W. Bush signed a joint congressional resolution to designate November as National American Indian Heritage Month. During this month the culture, traditions, and achievements of Native Americans, Alaska Natives, and their descendants are celebrated. Ohio has a long history of Native American presence. Notable historic tribes that called Ohio home include the Shawnee, Delaware, Wyandot, Miami, Ottawa, and Seneca.
