In loving memory of Maggie Traynor ‘66 Zimmer, this scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to students with demonstrated involvement and leadership roles in non-athletic extracurricular activities. Consideration will be given to students with service and participation in activites at Alter and/or their local community. Intial funding for this scholarship was provided by Paul & Maggie Zimmer, both 1966 Alter graduates, the first graduating class of Alter High School.

Eligibility:
• Current Alter student
• 3.0 GPA minimum
Essay: Describe in detail the extracurricular activities or service projects at school or in the community that you have participated in, listing your specific participation in the activity or project and any leadership positions held and duties you are responsible for in that position. Please list your current GPA, showing both weighted and non-weighted GPA.
References: Two required (faculty references are preferred)
Nonrenewable: Qualifying individuals may re-apply
Special: While participation on an athletic team does not disqualify a student from receiving this scholarship, athletic pursuits will not count as an extracurricular activity. However, time spent serving as an athletic trainer or a student manager will be considered an extracurricular activity.
