Last week, Hope Squad made their peers feel seen, heard and loved through little acts to bring to light Suicide Prevention Awareness Week. They passed out created affirmation post it notes for students to take, and handed out candy, mints, and donut holes as they greeted their peers in the morning. They also held a candlelight vigil on Wednesday evening where they shared stories, heard a poem, and put together pins with beads representing different mental health struggles that they or a friend may experience. The week was about showing love and solidarity in the Alter community while trying to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.
